In today’s fast-paced corporate landscape, companies focus more on targets, productivity, and profits. In this quest, however, certain quintessential human elements, such as recognition and self-awareness, often appear sidelined, fading into the backdrop. Their relative disappearance from the workplace threatens to erode the essence of an empathetic and thriving work culture.

Recognition extends far beyond just the occasional commendation. It fosters a sense of worth and validation among employees for their hard work and dedication. Research repeatedly shows that employee recognition significantly boosts job satisfaction, engagement, and overall morale. Despite its advantages, many organisations overlook this critical factor. Intense competition, a singular profit-oriented perspective, and workplace bureaucracy often thwart the regular appreciation that employees deserve.

Similarly, self-awareness – the consciousness of one’s thoughts, feelings, and actions – is gradually overlooked, impacting individuals and the collective work environment. Employees engrossed in meeting stringent deadlines, handling escalating workloads, or navigating corporate politics may lose sight of this essential trait. A lack of self-awareness can lead to misjudgments, repeated mistakes, strained relationships, and, ultimately, a debilitating work culture.
