Mythology in Rhythm
By Miguel Santiago
In realms divine, where legends dwell,
Where ancient stories fondly swell,
A tapestry of myths unfold,
Through whispers ancient, yet untold.
From mighty gods on lofty mounts,
To mortals forged in earthly founts,
Mythology, a timeless play,
Where dreams and truths so often sway.
On Mount Olympus, Zeus reigns,
With power held, the sky sustains,
His lightning bolts, a fearsome sight,
Unleashing chaos, or calming night.
Poseidon, with his trident’s might,
Commands the seas, a wondrous sight,
Waves crashing on shores near and far,
His realm, a tempest, yet a gentle spar.
Athena, wisdom’s heavenly guide,
With eyes that pierce, but never chide,
She weaves her plans with clever deliberation,
Granting knowledge to every seeking nation.
In corners dark, Hades resides,
Amongst the shadows, where souls abide,
The ruler of the underworld’s domain,
An echo of silence, a realm of pain.
In Nordic lands, the Valkyries soar,
Brave warriors they choose for battle’s chore,
Swooping down from skies so high,
Guiding heroes as they fight and die.
Thor, the thunder god, with hammer true,
Battles giants, fierce and few,
Strength and valor in his veins,
Guarding realms from chaos’ reigns.
Amidst the desert dunes of old,
Ra, the sun god, with rays of gold,
Spreads warmth and life across the land,
Guiding souls with his eternal hand.
In tales of old, heroes take their quest,
Facing challenges and foes to the test,
Perseus, slayer of Medusa’s snare,
Saving Andromeda without despair.
These mythic tales, immortalized,
In whispered legends, we’ve eulogized,
Their lessons timeless, resonating still,
A mirror to life, with joys and ill.
So let us revel in mythical lore,
With every tale and legend, explore,
For in these stories, we find our place,
Discovering truths, a human embrace.
