In a world where information is increasingly digitised, readily accessible, and overwhelming, you may find yourself staring at an array of doors quite frequently. This vivid metaphorical landscape depicts the paradox of choice we face in the digital world, a scenario so nebulous that we might not be able to offer a simple binary ‘yes’ or ‘no.’
One of the most poignant questions we face in the 21st century is this: Does having more choices empower us or enslave us?
Not too far in the past, information was a privilege held by gatekeepers – scholars, mystics, and thought leaders who filtered the deluge of information before it reached the masses. Limited options granted clarity, birthed experts, and engendered trust in proven systems. But the democratisation of information in the Internet age has since levelled the playing field, disrupting the erstwhile status quo. In an age where anyone with a WiFi connection could be a key decision-maker, the power dynamics have shifted dramatically.
